What this covers

Give a Gift is software for running an annual gift-donation drive. Each deployment is operated by the organization running the drive (a church or charity). This policy covers information handled at giveagift.io.

Information we collect

• Donors: name, mobile phone number, optionally an email address, and the gifts you committed to. Collected by a volunteer or organizer when you adopt an angel.
• Gift recipients: first name, age, gender, clothing sizes, and gift wishes, submitted by the partner agencies that identify recipients.
• Organizers and volunteers: name, email address, and optionally a phone number, used for sign-in and coordinating the drive.

How it is used

Only to run the drive: matching donors with recipients, confirming adoptions, reminding donors of the gift drop-off, and checking gifts in. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Text messages

If you agree to receive texts when adopting, we send an adoption confirmation and may send drop-off reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. The confirmation lists the angels you adopted and what they asked for.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding the aggregators and providers of the text message services.

Sharing

Information is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the app, and only for that purpose: hosting, database, email delivery, text message delivery (Twilio), and Anthropic, whose Claude AI reads the spreadsheets and photographed forms that partner agencies submit about gift recipients and organizes them into consistent records. Recipient details texted to donors never include full last names or addresses.

Retention and deletion

Records are kept across drive years so returning donors and year-over-year reporting work. To have your information corrected or deleted, contact the organization running your drive, or email support@giveagift.io.
